La Paulee du Singapour 2020 and Trade Pre-Tasting; 1/16/2020-1/17/2020 (One Fullerton/ Grand Hyatt Singapore): Pale lemon, with a pretty good brightness. A nose that starts with guava and grapefruit, and then some creaminess and hay. Light bodied, but still some fair flavour intensity and acids, tastes of hay, grass, and starfruit. Interesting, being a Pinot Blanc while we much more often see Chardonnay, but still feel like it’s a simple straightforward example

Confrerie Lou Hei dinner with Henri Gouges wines (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant): Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with interesting aromas of stony minerals and pungent earth, then striaght citrus lemon fruits. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, minerals, linear citrus lemon fruit. Medium finish. Good quality. Unique Bourgogne Blanc - well yes because it is a Pinot Blanc. Drink up.

Slightly reductive - there's a burnt rubber / smoky aspect to the nose. Otherwise fairly neutral.
Dry, medium body, 13.5% alcohol, high acid, low bitterness - almost nonexistent. Long finish - candied lemon. Feels like a little neutral barrels as well. Maybe 15% new French oak.
Final call:
I think this is a good-quality White Burgundy - maybe a medium-quality Puligny or good quality bourgogne blanc 2016.
Actually: 2014 Henri Gouges Pinot Blanc, Bourgogne Blanc. 12.5% alcohol. Some new oak (not sure)
Analysis: I was accurate in style. This is a fairly unique wine. Overall an impressive wine - maybe the best Pinot Blanc I've had? Reminds me a lot of chardonnay.

This wine does have a stinky nose, but it is not off putting or takes away from its enjoyment. On the palate, it is very complex for a Pinot Blanc with notes of grilled Meyer lemon, a little lychee nut, chalk and smoky fruit.

Would be tough to call this as not burgundian chardonnay blind. Maybe a little less linearity. Good bottle but not special.
