  • Drinking beautifully! Wonderful petrol on the nose, with aromas and sweet flavors of apple and peach with smooth mouthfeel and nicely balanced acidity on the long finish.

  • I drank this wine 8 years ago and it still has this sparkling note which also the dry wines of Maximin Gruenhaeuser wines have. Not what I like.

Had half of the bottle today, almost three (!) weeks in my wine fridge, only with a stopper, and the sparkling was gone. Amazing, the wine needed that air and opened up nicely. Sweet, full bodied, loverly, not like a dry Spätlese, no signs of ageing. Need to revise my scoring 4p up. Storing this wine will be awarded.

  • the colour is showing an developed Riesling, light golden, stunning nose, mineralic, ripe peaches, on the palate really fresh appearance, acidic bite, dancing fine artful lightness, still so young, animating, this bottle goes down so well, long+ finish, long life ahead, bought this bottle in 2006 for 16.- euros, should have bought more than one case........, 91- 93+

  • A brilliant bottle of wine. A youngster, this bottle was still effervescent, giving, overflowing at times, absolutely fresh and delicious. Petrol galore, white truffle, lemon oil, creme/butterscotch, green apple. Deluxe and delightful, this wine just continued to change and please. Most giving at room temperature, loaded bouquet, and a palate-staining quality to the phenols. Muscled finish. Easily good for ten more years, the acid is uber-precise and this tastes more just-picked than last year's crop. (94-96)

Rockss and Fruit

(Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenhur Spatlese Trocken) Maybe one of the most minerally noses of the trip. Some exotic notes of tea leaf along with a fatter and riper palate than the previous Juffer. A little less filigreed than Juffer but fatter and more while being very very trocken.
