Very reticent on opening but after a few minutes opens up nicely. Buttery and lemony. Some underlying rocky minerality and a kind of odd spritziness in the mouth. Very nice.

SMD at Kingyo (Kingyo, Marina Square): Decent, but a bit of a fatty so far as Puligny goes. The entire table quite unanimously called this a white Rhone when blind. The nose showed sweet lemons, apricots, beeswax, chalk and yellow flowers. Very Viognier I thought, and the palate certainly kept up the impression, with a waxy texture couched in surprisingly lowish acidity for a 2004, more beeswax and honey notes and some rich yellow fruit. Finish has decent length, but when all that creamy weight was wed to the low acid, the wine came across as a little flabby and loosely knit - like a middle-aged bloke who has started to let himself go.

This has gone in my mind from very good to outstanding - everything is so well balanced right now.
Pleasant nose of lemon, a little floral, and a little vanilla. Creamy mouthfeel adding some minerality, in addition to the same set of flavors on the nose. Crisp acidity with a longish finish that brings out a sweetness to the lemon flavors making it more of a lemon drop kind of sensation.

(Mischief & Mayhem Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne) Ebullient, wide and interesting nose that's wide in perspective and shows a hint of mint. It does, unfortunately, become a little more diffuse as it sits in the glass - I should have come back to it, as others that did this also tightened-up again. In the mouth I'm very impressed, concentrated, linear and very mineral - wow. Good acidity and long too, a sleek and super wine.

Very much a Puligny with typical rich buttery baby fat with beaming rounded ripe lemons acidity. Nice drinking.

Sharper focused nose of mineral lemons coated in almond butter. Glowing lemon fruit streams thru followed by fresh oatmeal and some fresh green grass
