  • 12,5% alcohol.

Medium-deep lemony yellow color. Concentrated, somewhat developed and quite waxy nose with complex aromas of dried yellow fruits, some pineapple, a little bit of sweet lemon marmalade and a hint of créme brûlèe. Very lovely! The wine feels ripe, rich and full-bodied on the palate with dry, round and complex flavors of ripe citrus fruits, wet stones, some honey, a little bit of flint-smoky minerality, light leathery character and a subtle yet distinctive note of mint. The acidity feels more moderate than high here, but it is more than enough to keep the wine very balanced and nicely structured. The finish is waxy and quite mature with complex, layered flavors of candle wax, honeydew melon, some developed toasty character, a little bit of baked exotic spices and a hint of flint smoke.

A very distinctive, at times even slightly odd, yet also enormously attractive and tasty Riesling that is all about complex, slightly outside-the-box aromatics than that racy, weightless and playful character of typical Mosel Riesling. Very fun and rewarding on its own and well-balanced to work nicely as a versatile food wine. A weird but very nice effort. Good value at 16,90€.
