Still has a very dark colour but turning to a more crimson one. Liq quality cork in a perfect shape. Aromatically it has some moisture at the beginning but it dissipates to make way for memories of wood and bitter carob. Better on the palate with density, a sweet touch and a bitter finish. True balance but nothing remarkable. Food wine. Better to open your bottles ASAP. Anyway, it brings a nice history lesson on the label, especially if you're Spanish. It's been a great year to taste a lot of Italian wines.

I've enjoyed this producer's wines in the past, but never had this nero d'avola/syrah blend that came to me in a @Garyvee wine club shipment. Medium (+) ruby color with some transparency and veering towards garnet a bit. I think Monica Larner nails the aromatics with "resin, tar, smoke, spice, dark chocolate, cola and syrupy espresso," along with dark fruits that are a little on the dried side, earthy funk, lemon, anise, clove, and an exotic blend of dried spices. Complex and interesting nose that I keep coming back to. Medium body, good acidity, minerality, spice, and length, with flavors of dark and dark red fruits, lemon, orange peel, black tea, and notable spice and chalky minerality. Pretty solid with Italian takeout tonight. 90+

There is an earthy forest floor and cherry nose. Wonderfully textured mineral laden palate with a hint of black cherry and leather. Complex and beguiling. It continues to grow on me as i drink it.

Amazing. This wine has really come into it’s own. I wish I had more.
