This is a really solid well made burgundy drinking near peak for this palate. Red cherries, black chrrry. and mushrooms galore. Very bright. Herbal. Palate has intense acid and mineral support. An almost frizzante note on finish which I have to interpret as acid etc. a bit of tannin. The fruit is big. Long finish.

I was surprised at how matured this wine was from an underwhelming vintage in Burgundy. Having had more white than red Auxey-Duresses, I was excited to see what this bottle had in-store. Drinking at what I thought was its peak, I was surprised to see a brown rim with a concentrated ruby center when I poured the wine out. With the fruit a little faded, the tertiary components of forest floor, herbs, cedar and earth really came out, accompanied by spices on the finish. Well-rounded in body, this is a wine you can really enjoy right now.

Two hours in the decanter. The wine was immediately aromatic when poured. Sweet (almost candied) cherries, cherry pits, Christmas cake, dried mushrooms, white pepper, and some combination of soy sauce/molasses/Worcestershire sauce (i.e., lots of umami components). Medium acidity and medium+ tannins. Long finish. Very reasonable price for a monopole and for a Burgundy of this quality, in general. Probably good for another 10 years, it seems.
