I’m new to Tannat, but if other Tannat’s are like this then I think I’m going to be a big fan. Medium bodied and very savoury in style, but incredibly moorish. The black raspberry and black plum fruit is juicy without being overly sweet. There are cured meats, nutmeg and a touch of cedar on the mid palate, followed by a light smoky finish. The tannins are firm and slightly drying, but not overly so. I like it - a lot!

Hunter Valley 2016 Trip #2: Tar and meat, cherry and earth. Rounded palate, there is sweet fruit and decent acidity. Tannins stick to the gums a little bit. There is interest to the wine and it is one I enjoyed trying.
