The wife of revered winemaker PYCM, Caroline is right up there. My first bottle of this was around a year ago and I found it closed, concentrated, and astringent and I wondered where it would go, a year later it was far better, far more open and balanced. Really I think this will easily have another 10-15 years but I will leave my next bottle at least another year.

At tasting. Brief note. This was noticeably ripe on both the nose and palate but to without balance showing candied lemon peel, lemon custard, pear compote, vanilla pastry creme, hazelnuts, creamy minerals and some obvious new oak that wasn't too obtrusive. Midpalate is where this shines with bright acids taming the sweet citrus and allowing the creamy minerals to work their way in to give good texture. Finish is medium (+) with the new oak sticking its elbows out on the backend of the finish. This is good now but will greatly benefit 5-7 years in the cellar.

Full yellow. Pear fruit and some vanillin. Less reductive than the other whites, but still a hint of sulfur. Deeper than the Chene, better acidity, but at the cost of more obvious wood. Big, ripe, sappy Chassagne with good material and excellent texture. The oak stops short of being intrusive, but it still seems pretty clear that this is a Premier Cru vinified with Grand Cru aspirations.

Janselijn Wines & Verkerk Wines Burgundy v. Tuscany Tasting (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL): Trade tasting, brief note. Completely different style from the wines from Tessier tasted before, much spicier and earthier, candied fruit, very good length. Young vines but has substance.
