No formal note, this was too much of an oaky affair for me to enjoy, I don't have the palate for this style of wine at this point so the score is more about my particular experience and less so about the wine itself. Short of a steak no food will stand up to this big boy so if you like this style of wine give it several hours of air to lose the heat and then drink alone.

I prefer this to the 2013, meaty nose, damp earth, blackberry cobbler, motor oil, cream, all oak ferment, velvety texture, the real deal, this is the best Siesta, I'm sure most would agree, always a limited production the cab franc seems to disappear first...mocha now on nose

slow ox most of bottle until day 3, tons of black cherry juice on the palate, very ripe even boysenberry hints, fleshy and silky, finishing on a spikey sour rasberry note creamy for a 100% cab franc...sees 14 months in barrel

6+ hrs, on the nose dried black fruits, blackberry cobbler, this is great pure cab franc, the cab franc greenness is almost non existent, some complexity layers and silkiness to the texture, tastes quite bdx....

Herbaceous nose of thyme and rosemary. Menthol notes. A little oak forward with velvety tannins and nice fruit. I like it.
