  • Advanced colour; muted nose, compressed; bulky, tending to fat, heavy; no better than OK. Drink up.

  • Pale lemon yellow color. Quite sophisticated and fine-tuned nose with slightly sweet-toned aromas of ripe red apples, creamy richness, some almond paste, a little bit of crème à la vanille and a delicate, zesty hint of fresh citrus fruits. The wine is surprisingly full-bodied and even somewhat concentrated on the palate, yet still surprisingly playful in style and light on its feet. There are ripe yet fresh flavors of juicy golden apples, citrus fruits, creamy richness, some stony minerality, a little bit of pear peel and a hint of savory wood spice. The moderately high acidity lends good sense of balance and structure to the wine. The finish is rich, juicy and fine-tuned with flavors of ripe red apples, creaminess, some stony minerality, a little bit of vanilla custard and a hint of zesty citrus fruits.

A stylish, ripe yet very fresh and harmonious white Burgundy. Still very youthful - almost primary - and although by no means an oaky wine, the creamier and more vanilla-driven oak aromatics are still quite a bit on the fore. The wine certainly does show the warm vintage character of 2015, but it is by no means too ripe, ponderous or flabby. Most likely the wine needs a few years more to come nicely together. Probably not among the most long-lived vintages, but a fine and tasty Chardonnay all the same. Priced according to its quality at 24,40€.
