Very direct and linear Pinot which I first thought was American - but it's also a very good in terms of pleasant balanced line of attractive fruit and acidity with lots of mature red berry flavour. Maybe a bit expensive but drank well throughout a meal and afterwards. I would be happy to drink again but might not buy a case. There are subtler NZ alternatives at the price.

Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): perfumed warm red berry fruit, uncomplicated…fresh, easy, fruity with light tannic burr. Quaffable, enjoyable. Nice. But it's a bit expensive at 38 AUD
