  • drank as soon as we opened the bottle, but I would recommend an hour or so decant. it is a big and bold wine, and can definitely last a few more years. had a glass left for the second day, and the taste barely changed. Especially compared to the 2011, much more influence of the Cab Franc

  • Nice big fruit but not a huge wine. It has a dark chocolate-blackberry fruit and a nice big middle. Quite nice drinking and a pleasant tasting wine. I was hoping for a bit more for the price. Seems well enough structured to last for 15 years.

  • While the grape composition is certainly consistent with Saint-Émilion, this opaque ruby blend of 74% Cabernet Franc and 26% Merlot is clearly a New World version. Medium-to-full-bodied, lusciously ripe and oozing with fruit, it delivers a distinctly New World package of black currants, dark bramble fruits, licorice and savory herbs. Low-to-medium in acidity, seamlessly alcoholic (despite being listed as 15.5%), moderately tannic and layered on the mid-palate, it goes on to finish with length and elegance. Oenophiles will not confuse this with something from the Right Bank of Bordeaux, but they will love the ripe fruit and herbal balance. Assuming proper cellaring, this should reach its 20th birthday with grace. Drink now-2036.

  • You can definitely taste the high percentage of Cab. Franc in here. Gobs of Black cherry fruit, notes of loamy soil/compost, touch of green herb and bitter chocolate. This is a big wine that should drink well for many years to come.

  • Briefly decanted and swirled vigorously. A rich mid to full bodied wine with great balance and finish. A testament to the fruit and the skill of winemaker Robert Hunt.
