When initially opened there was some funk that blew off over the next hour to show dark fruits, a lot of structure and well integrated tannins with a medium finish. We had opened grand cru Burgundy at the same time and as ti.e went on after opening they became much more comparable in quality. I would definitely buy this again.

We stumbled across this 70% Baga, 30% Touriga Nacional at a Portuguese wine tasting. One twirl, sniff ‘n sip was all we needed. Twelve months aging in 50% new and 50% 2 year old French barrels followed by four years in the bottle results in an opaque, flowing purple gown...alluring. Multiple black fruits, a touch of oregano and subtle hints of toasted vanilla and almonds causes a surge in adrenaline that demands an (un)healthy gulp or three. Baga can be a rough, acidic, wet coffee grinds experience on the palate, but not this luvly as the Touriga Nacional smooths the edges resulting in an elegant, full-bodied, black fruit driven lady of indisputable sophistication. Think of the luscious Sophia Loren lounging on your sofa...or... 😇

Blend of 70% Baga, 30% Touriga Nacional. Powerful black fruit, roses and toasted brioche on the nose. Complex. Elegant structure, mature black fruit, active tannins, long finish. Excellent.
