2 -3 hour slo ox in 750ml, saving half in a split for next day. Day 1 was enjoyed with a prime fatty streaked fillet which was needed to round out the tannins. The next day we enjoyed the balance with popcorn over 2 hours: wild berry, plum and floral flavors, cedar, with a full-bodied palate yet elegant richness, powdery tannins. Very balanced, refreshing acidity and an enduring finish. No doubt this will continue to improve over the next several years.
Big brooding wine at this point. Opened for 6 hours, very dark flavors. After an additional 1.5hr decant fruit started to show better. Great wine just needs more air than I thought.
The wine is dark purple, also bold as the other siblings, the nose in confusing and complex, on the palate you get this infrequent combination of tobacco, black raspberry, valley mist and a touch of red bell pepper. This is the best Cabernet Franc I have ever had, coming from a non Cab Franc fan this should tell a lot, Pierre Seillan is doing a magnificent job. I would hold it for 2-3 years and drink over the next 10 or so. 95+ PTS in my tough scale.

I couldn't decide on a winner between this cab franc blend and the cab driven La Joie. I mean, even sitting there for 2 hours though the roller coaster of sensual changes with these wines, your head can spin a bit, trying to assess and take in everything they have to offer you....the fruit, the nose, the complexity, the depth. To me this tasting was the highlight of our trip this year. The costliest wines by far, but to my palate and appreciation for serious BDX blends, this was the "E" ticket ride of the whole week.
Note: I changed my score to 99, it was that good to me.

Brilliant horizontal tasting at the winery. Incredibly rich and seamless for a huge, young red wine, the Le Desir captures the ethereal beauty that is unique to great Cabernet Franc-based wines. Otherworldly and sublime.
