Community Tasting Notes (4)

  • Smells like a tired Sauv Blanc on the nose, herbaceous and green. On the nose it's juicy with a little slightly oxidised apple as well as those green notes. Finishes with an earthy and meaty underpin. Entirely my own fault for retaining a wine that should have been DYA...

  • IWS Calabria and Puglia (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Slightly herbaceous, green and quite green fruited, greengages and lime, grassy, a little savoury underpin. Juicy and, surprisingly after the nose, sweetly fruited on the palate, it's a little anonymous though and a fair amount of alcohol joins on the finish lending a little savoury spiciness. Meh.

  • From Coravin. Green herbs, lemon, a little honey, a little sharpness, slightly green almonds, honey grows with time. In the mouth it's soft, honeyed, tangy, simple, aged, alcohol warmth on the finish, lacks freshness unsurprisingly. Meh.

  • Clear Pale greenish lemon with some petillance. Medium dirt, kerosene, gooseberry even grassy, with pineapple and hard cheese. Developing. Dry, Medium round body, High acidity, medium+ alcohol, a hint of tannin on the gum. Medium but concentrate ripe starfruit and pineapple with yeasty and a hint of almond nutty one the palate. A hint of Yeasty and nutty in the long aftertaste with a round texture. Good balance, good length, good intensity, almost good complexity. A very good wine. Drink now, not suitable for aging or further aging. However, I would rather believe it is a Greco, which is also used in the Greco di Tufo production, rather than the real Greco Bianco for Greco di Bianco.
