Decanted 2 hours. Blackberry and earthy nose, sage. Mouth is full, fruited both fresh berries and hints of baked ones. Balanced acidity and tannin. In a great spot, plenty of life too.

Luscious. This is not reminiscent of a Northern Rhone, but it is a lovely, lively wine with a strong fruit presence. Excellent food wine. The price of this wine has not changed since the first vintage in 1998; very good value @ $48. You can't go wrong with Lagier Meredith.

Probably at it peak with muted fruit and soft tannins. Definitely a California style.
