  • 10% alcohol.

Very deep and dark golden yellow color with coppery highlights and a pale bronze rim. Very developed and sweet-toned nose with complex aromas of leather, dried peaches, some wizened nectarine, a little bit of aged petrol character, a hint of maple syrup and a touch of tangerine marmalade. The wine is sweet, concentrated and quite viscous on the palate with rich flavors of honey, lemon marmalade, some perfumed floral tones, a little bit of steely minerality, a hint of apricot marmalade and a touch of fruit salad. The wine is moderately high in acidity - not really high enough to offset the sweetness or lend freshness to the wine, but high enough to keep it well balanced. The finish is firm and bright with sweet, focused and somewhat sticky flavors of steely minerality, honey, apple jam, some lemon marmalade, a little bit of floral apple blossom character and a hint of dried stone fruits.

A very pleasant, stylish and beautifully developed sweet Auslese with great sense of harmony between the fruit, the acidity and the sugary sweetness. Starting to feel quite aged already, but it still doesn't really feel that the wine is at its peak yet. Probably needs another 5-10 years to hit its apogee and probably will keep good for at least twice that long. Lovely stuff and stunning value at only 9,90€ for a 500 ml bottle.
