  • Bodegues Sumarroca SL, Brut Nature, Gran Reserva, DO Cava, Catalonia [Catalunya], Spain, 2012
    12%
    Cuvée van parellada (38 %), xarel.lo (35 %), macabeo (27 %) (or with a small amount of Chardonnay ?).
    Idem.
Maybe it will get better if you keep it for another 2 or 3 years.
    For € 12,95 QPR=7.5

  • Pale lemon colour. The nose shows medium intensity aromas of green apple, lemon peel, cookies, brioche and rye bread.

It is dry in the mouth with a medium+ refreshing acidity. It has a medium alcohol and a medium body with a creamy mousse. It has medium+ intensity flavours and a medium+ finish.

It is a very good quality wine. It shows complexity provided by autolysis, and the acidity is in balance with the flavour concentration. The finish is persistent, but in a better example of this style it would be longer, and it would show more aromatic complexity as well.

  • Enjoyed this one at the crowded "Cerveseria Catalana". Bone dry with moderate sized bubbles - a good match to some oily sea food tapas.
