Well, that didn't last long. pretty pale in the glass with strong legs. Nose a bit smokey but otherwise nondescript. In the mouth, good acidity and a creamy, vanilla smoke. Fruit rather undefined but verrrrry smooth. Slight sense of oxidation. Overall, went down a treat. Excellent.

Opened Apr 11. complex, long flavours. Just a suggestion of some oxidization/sherry-like notes on the nose. That developed into fruit, sherry and smoke. Not unappealing but "old". Palate very fine and creamy mouthfeel. Oak and smoke dominated the tongue although some vanilla and fruit acid just about keeping up. Robust wine. One for food. Time to drink the other one I think.

Unfortunately premoxed, tasted 10 years older than it is. Faulty.

Hint of oxidation ... not quite sure if this was the way this was intended, but it was just "nice" to drink.
