big not too complicated red wine from Lodi/Cal - if you are in the mood for a rich, big and mainly fruit driven wine, perfect to steak or bbq. May be a hint to sweet and to much alcohol.

This wine drank like a cabernet far higher in price. Big and bold, great nose with nice flavor profile that lingered long on the palate. This one really impressed me.

I didn’t buy this one (it showed up at a party) and I would not seek it out, yet I can see how it could be a reasonably priced crowd-pleaser. The aromas are super fruity with tart-sour cherry and a hint of banana. Some initial menthol/licorice aromas take on more of a coffee grounds presence with air, or maybe that’s just how the mouthfeel came across, as it seemed a little gritty even though the tannins are moderate. Lots of fruit on the palate mixed with a little vanilla and with what I’m pretty sure is a bit of residual sugar to try to hold all the pieces together. It’s not terrible but it just feels...manufactured.
