Great condition for a 19 year old wine. Colour is deep ruby with the slightest touch of garnet. Loads of fruit and spice. Red and black plums and cherries, plum pudding, baked raspberries, dried black cherries, black pepper, rich dark chocolate, hints of leather and tobacco leaf, vanilla, cedar. Lingering finish with fruit and savoury notes. High alcohol, medium + to high acid. Full bodied, pronounced flavour intensity. Will continue to develop in bottle. Enjoy now and drink through to 2030 or 2035. If corks are as intact as this bottle.

Decanted for 40 minutes. Lovely balance with well integrated tannins. Cooked red fruit and unmistakable Barossa pepper and spice. Developed well over an hour or so.

Consistent with earlier tasting notes, at sixteen years of age, this is aging gracefully, but starting to show its age with slight signs of diminution of the fruits.
Upon opening it was slightly obtuse with a bit of an edge, but over the course of an hour it opened, softened and became more approachable.
Dark inky purple color, full bodied, thick, chewy layers of aromatic flavors of tangy black fruits, raspberry, black cherry and black currants, accented by tones of clove spice, graphite & hints of creme de cassis on a smooth polished moderate tannin finish.

At it’s peak or just over the edge, complex tertiary characters with just a little of the primary fruit still showing through. Enjoy! A
