  • I popped and poured, color was nice off-red as expected. Nose promised much, but first taste was an odd sweetness on the palate followed by a tight, dry finish. Decanted and tasted again. Improved a lot, but still not balanced at all. I have to agree with the previous reviewer about a chemical taste too. A shame, I was expecting more from this young Rioja.

  • The most disappointing wine I've come across at K&L. Promising to be a young tempranillo bearing "Rioja" designation, I expected at least to have some resemblance to that grape. It was terrible. Coming across like an over-concentration grape-and-red Kool Aid, it tasted quite fake, with a high acidity and peculiar chemical finish that was unpleasant. Nowhere was there any sign of true Spanish tempranillo.
