Blackberries, vanilla creamer, bacon fat, black olives, slate rock.
Medium acid, surprisingly low alcohol, lots of mid palate density (although a little angular) despite being elegant overall. Lots of minerality…Chalky tannins have softened dramatically since previous note.
I could see some more short term development over the next few years and should last until 2030. But this is in a great place right now so don’t shy away from opening these bottles!

A little bit bigger than the previous two vintages, and not yet as open and lush as this can be, but still a lovely fresh juicy Crozes.

Super Rhone Saturday 2017 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Funky with touches of whole bunch, perfumed with pink peppercorns. Pretty nose, pretty palate as well but finishes a little warm and a touch short.
