S: musty one spider cellar basement; taste is thin but interesting mix of leather and light berry cellar. Really liked. Could taste the cab franc. L: it’s like licking a newt. R: peat bog nose; jammy and tannic with a warm bite. Decent. Keeps a lot of flavor for the age.

Finger Lakes Vacation 2017; 9/4/2017-9/8/2017 (Finger Lakes, New York, USA): Tasted at the winery. Right off the bat a very good floral nose with cool though hard-to-dissect layers. Unfortunately this was followed by poor flavor intensity. Grippy tannins, but only medium(-) acid. Has merit, but felt awkward all around. "Good-to-very good," 85/100.

Surprisingly well structured Finger Lakes red. Very drinkable now: balanced alcohol, acid, tannins. Cherry, currants, leathery flavors.
