Of all the Winemakers Selection reds this was certainly the most accessible first up. Quite nuanced sweetness when younger akin to a Syrah Viognier blend. A few years in the bottle now and the sweetness and fruit profile have balanced out wonderfully. I have half a doz left, they will go nicely for another 5 years but now entering its best time I feel.

Bright crimson/blood-red in colour. Raspberry with a touch of spice. Almost cordial-like, but in a good way. I suspect the 6% marsanne is having an influence here. Very approachable now and it will be interesting to see how it will develop in say another 5 years.

Is now a much more balanced wine, losing the sweetness exhibited in my last note.
