Really nice. Smooth, mellow tannins, soft black fruits, some leather and spice. Very enjoyable, but perhaps thinning a bit and nearing the end of its window. Drink up. 92.

Dinner and Conversation with Tom Gamble (1700 Degrees): In my opinion this was the wine of the night. Wonderfully balanced it was hitting on all cylinders. Although there is great fruit here, it is still a subtle wine, with spice, leather, and tobacco. The finish continues for a long time. This is a wine that grows on you as the evening goes on.

Buncha wines: Deep purple color. Dark and saucy aromatics with blackberries and dark plums, loamy earth, charcoal, graphite, dark chocolate shavings. Fresh acidity helps frame this wine nicely, while the tannins give grip, but the balance is evident. Tangy blackberries and blueberries are topped in anise, charcoal smoke and graphite. The rich but tart fruit and the mineral streak on the end make a great combo. Will improve with a few years at least. 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc, 28% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in 46% new French oak barrels.

Drank next to a 2014 Myriad 3 Twins. The Gamble fruit and complexity. A pretty decent bottle.
