This was quaffable, tasty to drink and the bottle emptied quickly.
That being said, I was left wanting more. I found it to be one-dimensional. There's brioche, some yeasty notes and crisp fruit. Beyond that...I don't know. Expectations higher than they should've? Perhaps.

I found this to be an enjoyable rose champagne, but it was a bit angular for my palate. The mousse was too aggressive and detracted from the flavor profile of the wine. I have two more bottles. Perhaps some age will improve it.

Just got this today. Right off the Fed-Ex truck earlier, into my glass tonight. Disgorged April 2022, based on 50% Pinot Noir, then 25% each Chard and Pinot Blanc, all from the village of Celles-sur-Ource. I believe 3 grams of dosage, and there is some small % of still red Pinot Noir added for color, but until the Gerbais website is finished being refreshed, all I can do is cobble together some of this detail. Of note, according to the Wasserman website, this is no longer built with reserve wine, so the reference on the back label for this being 2019 vintage may indeed mean this is a vintage wine. For now, I remain humbly confused. This has a salmony color, with just a hint of pink to redden it up a little more. Fragrant aromatics, like rose petal, something a little herbaceous, then citrusy too. Evident here is the energy, the acidity creating a bright palate. A bright lime colliding with a crushed strawberry and red apple, along with some tangy peach, red licorice vine and even a bit of cinnamon. It's both crisp and yet there is a flushness from the fruit to even it out, finishing with a nice taut-edged feel. The finish has some impressive length, a persistence that I enjoy. The irony here is that I had ordered the non-Rose version of the cuvee, then realized when I went to key my note here that the shop sent me the Rose. So I go to look for more of this, to consider an additional order and the wine is on pre-arrival. So, I remain humbly confused, yet feeling gratitude that I got a great glass of Rose tonight, and more for tomorrow. Been a while since I have uncorked Gerbais, glad I decided to find them again.

Lovely, great purity of fruit with a striking mineral backbone
