  • N: PETROL, minerals poss WAY beneath

P: Med, poss LM, body; Rndish entry with nice, almost swtish frt met by BRACING acidity which makes itself VERY felt into & through the LONG, tangy/swt (65:35) finish with some notes of a very, VERY slight bitterness that actually AIDES with food. 11.5% ABV

  • 3 Shared Bottles (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): N: PETROL with HINTS of stone frt underneath?

P: Med body; VERY rndish entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) with some apple flavors NICELY counterbalanced by an acidity which pushes matters into & through the LONG, tangy/swt (60:40) finish with, ULT, the barest hint of honey. Certainly nice for now, & into, if not through, '21, + I can see this improving into Spring '19. 11.5% ABV; My VG+/EXC-, arguably more considering the QPR of this vendor's $14.95, which is at LEAST $3 < than anyone else on wine-searcher's currently limited listings. 89 pts WS (300 cs imported)

Later note: The remnants wound up being imbibed that night with MILDLY spicy homemade (beef) chili with beans, a pairing for which previously I wouldn't have OPENED such a wine, but now WOULD! :)

  • N: Closed; Petrol with minerals & notes of ripe stone frts underneath, poss apples?

P: LM body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt quickly met my an init spritzy, BRACING acidity that pushes matters through the LONG, tangy/swt finish with occasional hints of a very, VERY slight bitterness that winds up being a +. 89 pts WS (300 cs imported) [As of mid Jul '19, wine-searcher still shows 3 sources from $15-$27].

  • Winebar [4 Whts, 8 Reds, + 1 Shared Bottle] from 4/6/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): N: Petrol VERY dominant

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE frt QUICKLY met by spritzy, POTENT acidity which slowly morphs into a VERY LONG, tangy/swt (80:20) finish which, because of the AWESOME acidity, seems way drier than I suspect it actually is. For now & into if not through '20, poss more. My EXC -- particularly considering the QPR of this vendor's $14.95, which is at LEAST $3 < than anyone else on wine-searcher's currently limited listings. 89 pts WS (300 cs imported)

  • In the nose and on the palate as well Rebholz-specific flavours and tastes.
Nice fruit combined with the typical Rebholz stony minerality.
Really nice and for me the little brother of the "vom Buntsandstein".

    Excellent PQR!
