  • Drank through a wonderful stash of the 2000 I purchased 15yrs ago, and this is the first go at a 2001. Gorgeous deep and shiny gold with green tinge color...little funky on the nose with reduction, frog pond, canned peaches, apricot marmalade, wood smoke, salty sea air. Some air did the trick...really rich and full bodied in the mouth...loaded with salt water taffy, sauteed apple, exotic honey butter...creamy, yet CUT and fresh with some lemon squeeze and green apple skin. As with the 2000, shows WONDERFUL dry extract and waxiness...crushed sea shell marine minerality...limestone...dried flower florals. This is definitely richer than those 2000's I had...showing more honey and oak, but still retains a Chablis sense...and in no way over the hill! SO satisfying and a true joy to drink. LUV me some aged La Chablisienne!

  • Just coming out of an awkward phase. It is starting to round out on taste but still a bit closed and dusty on the nose. Very nice balance and the flavours are coming out to play. A long finish. Good balance and body.

  • If this were in one of those elegant James blind tasting, this bottle can be confused with a Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet easily.
    Pale golden colour.
Aromas of limestone mineral , candied lemon rind , " black ants " (for those who know that feeling ), clean pile of village public laundry , lactic sensations of creamy yoghurt ... amazing complexity. No oak abuse in any case.
Balanced , crisp acidity , long drink , very good persistence on the palate with a nice greasy mouthfeel . Rich .
An exceptional bottle of Chablis. The tip of iceberg of my respected Clive Coates. I am lucky.

Abundante.
    Una botella de Chablis excepcional.

  • Solid GC Chablis. Being picky - a little lean and a little too much acidity. Worked with xmas lunch though! edit - fatter but better balanced with a couple of hours air.

  • A marvelous bottle of burgundy. Terrific complexity, with subtle flowery notes with nose mainly of apples. Paired beautifully with grilled salmon and a risotto. Delicious!
