100% Cortese from the Gavi sub zone ("Gavi di Gavi"). Pale straw with green hues. The nose is clean, fresh, with grapefruit, white and blue flowers and chervil. The palate is dry, with medium to medium (+) acidity and alcohol. Good flavor intensity, nice round mouthfeel and a medium (+) long, slightly bitter and salty finish, thanks to the chalky, calcareous soils. It is drinking well now, and could do well for a couple of years. Still, it is not likely to improve with further aging. A nice, richer style of Gavi.

From a half bottle. A light, crisp nose, with citrus, greengage and a touch of pear. Nicely textured palate. Lots of savoury green fruit flavours, especiallynow it's warmed up a bit. Intense, slightly extracted fruit. There's a slightly dried fruit character, but that falls well short of raisining.

Right up there with the best of the Gavi's we've had. Rich in stone fruit flavors, a deft touch of herbs along with the acidity and minerality help keep this balanced and tasty.

P: Med body; Rndish entry with ALMOST swtish frt (threshold R.S. likely?), acidity trying to balance; LONG, ult almost swtish finish. Fairly full flavored, but not MY style. 13% ABV: 6,666 cs made. 90 pts WS, 88 Wine & Spirits, and Commended @ '16 Decanter World Wine Awards. Tasted @ $15.99, & several late June 2018 wine-searcher vendors still show it from $15.69-$20.

Lemon and light green apple. Nice and dry and paired well with veal milanese at Cecconi's.
