I was very underwhelmed by this bottle. I last drank this 3 years ago and it was significantly better as I gave it a 94. This was dark ruby in color with dark raspberry, vanilla, camphor, and alcohol on the nose. This was very thin on the PNP with a lot of tart cherry going on. I let it decant for an hour and it gained a little traction but was still hollow. I drank this over another 2 hours and it just never got the motor running. When I studied the CT notes this wine is heading in the wrong direction. Started with 94's and 95's and is now 90's and 91's. Had this been the first time drinking this wine it would have been my last time. I have two more bottles and I guess I am going to wait like Badmonkey till the 2021-2025 drinking window. I also think that is a very long window for a wine I felt was rich and plush early not big and tannic. At this point I have nothing to lose by waiting. Many of the 2014's I have drank lately have not come close to how they were drinking early.
Took some time to process my introduction to this 100% cab as I was expecting more than what I documented. Decanted for two hours and consumed over the following two. Aromas of cocoa, vanilla and anise carried through to the palate while adding tart cherry and loads of dark fruit. Rich, thick and concentrated with dusty tannins and some remaining acidity. Velvety, refined and polished texture leading to a smooth, silky and lingering finish. What I missed was the complexity that wines at this price point often display, and, at times, this wine was almost one dimensional, especially with the dark fruits mentioned previously. Two bottles remain in the cellar and that is where they will stay until the recommended drinking window beginning in 2021.

Drank this bottle over three days. Day one, tried to pop/pour which was a mistake and threw it in a decanter for around one hour - fairly tart and tannic/acidic. Some improvement after the decant but it never fully came around.
Day two, some improvement - not as tannic/acidic. However, it still came across a little tart - a bing cherry profile which isn’t my thing. I’m not loving how most of the 2014 Napa cabs have been drinking over the past year. I’ll refrain from rating this bottle because I don’t believe it’s in the best place right now and needs some time.
Day three, some further improvement - not as tart. In addition, nice chocolate notes. I’m going to lay this vintage down for at least another year but likely two. 100% cab.

Nice, not as polished as I hoped. Finish is a bit soft
