  • Med+ acid, big, good fruit, long finish, this wine was stunning. Light and tart initially, it bloomed into a great fruitiness, autumn leaves.

  • Tales of Nebbiolo: Santa Maria edition. No, not some obscure corner of Alto Piedmont, California Central coast is in the house! It's unmistakably nebb, but infused with that new world intensity. Very pretty jammy rose on the nose with a wet leafy earthiness. Fair dollop of salinity on the palate, almost iron like. Has that hot weather concentration of fruit, like cranberry and sour cherry infused with licorice and iodine and a touch of that earth from the nose. Lots of acidity still with tannins taking over in the finish. It's an interesting thing, this Cali nebbiolo. Would like to try more to see what it's new world identity is.
