Purchased a few weeks ago. First experience with a 40 year tawny. Color was like a translucent, rich copper color with some pinkish tones. Nose was intoxicatingly complex with orange peel, toffee, and baking spices that carry over to the palate. Didn’t detect any alcohol, and the wine was served on the warm side. Very balanced. Sweetness. Good acidity. Delicious.

Sammamish Port Club Grab Bag (Sammamish, Washington): Bottled in 2021. Bright amber-gold in color. There are dried fruits, nuts, and some light spirit on the nose. Rich flavor profile with citrus and light caramel notes. Great balanced acidity on the long finish.

Light tawny in colour. Complex yet delicate in its aromas, almost ethereal. On the palate, elegant yet persistent. Hard to described the shimmering veils of tertiary flavours, but I'd venture golden sultanas and toasted almonds. Ah! So inadequate! Suffice to say, the overall experience is sublime. 20%, glass Vinolok stopper.

Had it on Emirates First Class. Nutty nose - walnuts - raisins all over. Great acidity, balanced, spicy notes on the beautiful, long ending, more raisins and molasses. Paired perfectly with Red Leicester and Carré d’Aurillac blue cheese.

BTG restaurant at Fleming’s in Austin, enjoyed with a spiced carrot cake. I was expecting to see more of an medium amber color, but this still has plenty of medium red tone in the color. Fairly light, but smooth on the palate yielding roasted nuts, dried red fruits, caramel, spice, and raisin. Acidity provides balance and supports a solid finish. Excellent.
