  A perfect cork. Strong ruby color. Interesting nose - I get a hint of stone fruit. Dried cherry palate. Some complexity. Medium to full bodied. No oak showing at all. The acidity is very good with it lifting up at the finish in waves. Med. length finish. Not overripe at all and very well made. "Squeeky clean". Some very tannins start to come out after being open for 1.5 hours. My only complaint is that it is a bit monolithic and lacks the complexity of the great years that followed it such as 2004 and 2007. But still a great second effort! Absolutey ready to drink. Drink now through 2019.

  nose suggests high alcohol but, in the mouth, there is an elegant balance between fruit and tannins; taste of black tea, plum, and blackberry; plenty of fruit but not over the top; drinking very well right now

  Uvas provenientes do vinhedo que dá nome ao vinho, com vinhas de mais de 70 anos. Bela cor rubi com traços violáceos, brilhante, com sedimentos. Aromas complexos, finos, que não se destacam pela intensidade mas pelo conjunto de nuances, com predomínio do floral (violeta) típico da touriga nacional, e de fruta em licor (cereja e ameixa seca). O álcool sobressai, mas tem taninos finíssimos, boa acidez e fruta. Refinado, elegante, com potencial de evolução e final muito longo e seco. Excelente.
