A bright orangey pink in color. Plenty of strawberry on the palate with a hint of a peppery, spicy finish. A nice summer, quaffer listening to the Charleston Symphony perform an outdoor concert. This was the last year and the last bottle of this wine in my cellar. It is a shame Sebastiani discontinued this. I first tasted this in 1978. At the time I think it was made from Pinot Noir. Over the years different varietals have been used and I think this year it is probably grenache. This was a lovely, easy drinking , social wine at a good price point.

It has been about 6 months since I last tried this and in the interim it has mellowed some and lost a bit of the spiciness I commented on in my last review. Still nice to look at with a pleasant aroma. I found the mellowness while different, to be quite enjoyable. Still strawberry like flavors. A nice summer cooler.

Nice refreshing rose and a pleasant quaffable alternative to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. I have followed and drunk Sebastiani wines since the '70's. Now owned by Foley Johnson, Sebastiani, while still a volume producer, is doing some interesting things while adhering to the family winery heritage. Eye of the swan has been around for years. Originally a Pinot noir based wine, this has evolved to a Grenache core. Medium pink in the glass with citrus and strawberry on the palate, this finishes with spicy notes from the Grenache base. Bright and refreshing.
