Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90 points

  • A Year in the Life of Flying Winemaker with Matt Thomson (Liberty Wines, London): The wine is clear and medium lemon in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of yellow apples, white peach, almond blossom, honeycomb, wax, hint of vanilla. The wine is developing.
The palate is off dry with high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium (+) intensity flavours similar to the nose, medium (+) finish.
The wine is very good quality. The fruit is balanced by the acidity, there is some complexity and nice concentration, the finish is perhaps a little short.
The wine can be drunk now but is suitable for further ageing - it has the acid and fruit to allow development of tertiary characteristics.
