Dark ruby. Dusty blueberry and oak spice nose. Medium to full bodied, cranberries, cherries, pepper, well integrated tannins, good acid, and a long satisfying finish. Seems to be at its best now, but still lots of time left.

Family Winemaker's 27th Annual Tasting San Francisco, nose of red and black fruit, black berry, plum, cigar box, and spring flowers, same on the palate, big body, tasty, lovely, rich fruit to taste, needs 2 years to peak drinking window, and a long finish.

Decanted and immediately began to consume. Black cherry, red current, plum, vanilla, tobacco, dark chocolate. Medium-plus acidity and body. Medium finish. Went well with spaghetti and meat sauce.

Very attractive, translucent garnet color in the glass. Slightly barnyardy nose. Red cherries on the tongue—maybe, a suggestion of strawberry. Very much in the “Carneros bottling” style of this maker (as opposed to their “Napa Valley” bottling). So, it is medium-bodied, quite elegant, soft. Noticeable, but just barely, tannins. Nice acid sturdiness. This is definitely in the traditional softer style of Merlot, and it is very enjoyable.
