Consumed over two nights, really opened up on the second night to reveal the depth of fruit, mocha, a hint of aniseed and typical shiraz pepper. All balanced out with a subtle line of acid and dusty tannins. Still evolving and worth hanging on to some for another 5 plus years.

Very smooth, pleasing on the eye and the palate. Typical western Victorian shiraz - a soft pepper nose, with a little meaty taste as well. Drinking even better the next day, so can improve for many years yet although very enjoyable now.

Spicey, meaty, chewy, green pepper elegance after more than a week in a full half bottle in the fridge. Drink now to 5 years. Excellent. Thank you for sharing Treasurer.

Love a savoury wine however to me this has very ripe/over ripe fruit, that is already quite developed. Not enthused, only medium length with dull tannin but has attracted a lot of excellent/outstanding reviews? Maybe this Chalambar is in its awkward teenage years or a dud bottle... 88 points 2nd night from the fridge, much improved perhaps I drank on the first night too warm and closed. Vanillin blackberry with some good tannin/acid support. 90 points.

Still a closed wine. If your serious about it decant prior a few hours. Opens up as a medium bodied with dark peppery fruit. Has a lot of life left.
