Nothing inherently wrong about this wine. But there's also nothing special. This is a good red fruit dominant wine. Even has that black cherry and bing cherry color to it. Starts with good acidity and a decent amount of youthful berry to it. But it just kind of doesn't take another turn and push to the 90+ realm. This wine needs food accompanying it without a doubt or else I think you'll get a little bored with it. Tangerines, dehydrated fruits, pistachios and potato chips. I am not sure this will integrate more than it already has to be honest. I see it maybe getting a little darker but I don't see that as a good thing necessarily. Drink now or within the next year.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (R&D's): Double blind. Deep garnet color with plenty of glycerin, the legs were thick and clung to the sides of the glass. Aromas of blue and black fruit, a touch hot too, with an intriguing dried mint undertone. Soft tannins. Blue and black fruit on the palate. This was a bit of a puzzle as i just couldn’t pin it down and I settled on malbec. Good, if a bit confusing, at least for me. (T&L)

Purchased in 2020 direct from RP. For a Napa estate bottling, QPR is fairly good ... I think it drinks like a lot of $150-200 BDX blends from Napa. Decanted for 90 mins and drank on its own before dinner. Supple tannins, traditional left bank black fruits with just enough dark/bitter chocolate to round it out — distinctly new world wine here. Seems like we’re at a good drinking window here.

Entering its prime drinking window. Decanting recommended.
