Nose not real strong. Flavor is not as sharp as I expected. Good fruit maybe almost to much, and rather light. The grape (cannonau) is uncommon around here and not a flavor much to my liking. Tannins a bit strong but not as much as it expected from other comments. We decanted 1.5 hrs early and that may have contributed to it's smoothness

10/21/2017 SPC Class WK7: Italy // Southern: opaque garnet color. Moderate aroma intensity showing some age. Blackberry, black pepper. Dry, medium bodied lively acidity and medium/astringent tannins. Moderate flavor intensity: pruney and jammy. Long finish. Nicely balanced - went well with asiago and pesto.

Vinturied. Cherry, plum, licorice and cloves on the nose and palate. Finishes with firm tannins and good length. Wish I had given this bottle more air; tannins were very dominant. Medium to full bodied. Served with baked lasagna.

This has aromas of chalk, blue fruits, heather and mint. Its medium bodied linear and tasty sensuous palate has lip smacking acidity. Ends longish, fresh and medium tannic. A good food wine. Served with Spaghetti Bolognese.

Taunt and tannic.....but not without it's charm. Hold or consume with red sauce.
