Slow ox'ed for one hour, then decanted for an additonal hour to allow the funk to blow off. The color was a dulled ruby, with a slight brownish tint. Once the wine opened, pure and bright red fruit dominates the nose, with hints of tart cranberry, a little sous bois and anise underneath, with some baking spice emerging as the wine opened. The palate repeated the red fruit and spice, with a little tannin from the unfiltered sediment mostly retained in bottle. The oldest Cameron I've opened and an interesting treat. This bottle could have gone several more years.

Blind Tasting on a Saturday Night (Woodley Park - Washington, DC): Showed very well in my opinion, but this is a wine for the adventurous palate. A dull cherry color. Aromas of garlic pickles, horseradish, tar and sage. Medium acid and soft tannins set the stage for a funk-filled palate, with notes of soy, olive, charcoal. "Holy peppercorn, Batman!" was the quote of the night with this wine. Briny and beautiful. I've enjoyed younger Clos Electrique pinots more, but this is a really fun, nerdy experience.

Cherry with some really good meaty, tarry, earthy wildness to it, and a bit of barnyard. The funk blows off a bit with some air. Delicious, characterful stuff. Tasted blind, I was pretty sure it was some sort of Burgundy. Thanks Alyssa and Brett!

Tasted blind. Nose of cherry, cameron fun, earth, tar. Palate of cherry, red raspberry, funk, earth, leather. Finish was above average to long in length, still decent acidity going on. brought this wine, so knew what it was. Very glad this wasn't corked. 91-92
