Remember I tend to be "over" the southern Rhone. So, that I adore this wine really says something. at 8.5 years post-vintage, it's still fresh and fruit driven - but with a great rocky mineral and garrigue note. Has the brambly raspberry and garrigue of grenache, some of the peppery and floral notes of syrah, an overall freshness, extract, and balanced charm of higher elevations. Tannins remain there- and rather drying still.

Cork split while opening, never a good sign—bout the wine itself was well balanced, seemingly still in prime—a bit soft and light for a Syrah based wine but, nevertheless, a pleasant pairing with assorted munchies, Chili (the best combo) and smoked turkey at a holiday gathering.

Oh wow, this has really hit it's stride (but was my last of three bottles). My early 2017 TN shortly after delivery indicates it was good, but unsettled while the July 2019 TN showed great improvement, an excellent wine. Even better now from PnP and over a few hours. I chose it as an odd pairing against bucatini with a simple red sauce containing sautéed guanciale and salami. It worked. But I was also happy to come back to it on its own.
14.5% abv. Really? I did get some warming qualities and ripeness, but it felt at least as much like a cooler-toned Syrah from the north, showing touches of bacon fat and olive along with garrigue and spice. Fresh and clean, yet it sneakily coats the tongue. Loved it. Sub-$20% USD QPR outstanding.
If I had another, I'd decant for several hours and drink over several hours more just to see how it progresses.
My cellar conditions are good, but not ideal, dark, with seasonal temperature fluctuations between the low-mid 50s and mid-upper 60s. So this bottle is likely further along that those kept in perfect conditions.

I’m always a fan of these but I wonder if I let this one sit a bit too long. I found this to be more closed than some of the younger ones I’ve tried. Maybe it’s in an “awkward” aging spot, but I think this either needs more or less time. If you still have it, wait another year or so? Very good nonetheless - just lacking the full personality.

Plenty going on here, but in hindsight this bottle would have benefitted from decanting for aeration. Lots of garrigue type aromatics, crushed red fruits on bouquet. Medium weight, Mediterranean herbs complement the spicy fruit compote. Nice lingering finish.
