Expected more fruit and exuberance from Girardin. Solid acidic core but tad sour relative to buffering fruit that might have preferred to see. Not a bad price for Meursault but not a world-beater either

At first the nose was muted and the flavor straightforward, but after 30 minutes it opened up with classic Meursault character: round apple, honeysuckle, peach-like flavors with just enough acid on the finish to make me want more. Insofar as the winemaker used new oak, it had integrated and added complexity to a better-than-average village Meursault. No one would mistake this for anything other than white Burgundy in a good vintage.

A silky mouthfeel and crisp acidity give the wine great precision and compliment the stone fruit core. Light touches of almond, brioche and gun-smoke add complexity to this mineral driven classic Meursault.

Well balanced but a bit bland for a Meursault
