  • Opened and double decanted for a quick turnaround to drink. Nice nose of cherry and floral notes along with some earthiness. Cherry, black plum and subtle earthiness on the palate with no noticeable tannin. Very good acidity. A mid weight style drinking great now. The finish was mid weight as well, a really nice wine. Went great with our home made pizzas. It will be really good with all types of food, especially if they are tomato based. It will probably drink great for 4-5 more years.

  • Opened for about an hour. The nose is beautiful sangiovese: roses, other flowers, dried cherries, tuscan earth, maybe some darker fruits like black cherry or plum as well. On the palate, a wall of acid gives way to a dusty, earthy midpalate with notes of tobacco and chocolate. There are fresh cherries throughout the palate as well. The finish is medium + and there are some fine tannins on the finish. I am surprised this doesnt get more attention in this price range, maybe there is too much bottle to bottle and vintage to vintage variation? Either way, this was a delightful expression of sangiovese and hard to put down. Probably still a good 1-3 years away from its drinking window, so drink 2025-2035.

  • Decanted for about 1.25 hours, it needs at least an hour to be at its prime.

    Medium(-) tawny/garnet colored

Nose: medium/medium(+) aromas of dried cherries, rose petals, and caramel with a hint of asphalt.

Palate: medium bodied, medium acidity, plush texture, dry, medium(+) tannins. Medium/medium(+) flavors of dried cherries/cranberries and forest floor with notes of graphite. Great balance and nice complexity with a nice medium(+) length aged red fruit finish

An older wine that is drinking very nicely now, but could sit for a bit more time, although the fruit might be subdued by then. Dried red fruit with nice earthy components and great balance
