Decanted 30 minutes. This is a fairly elegant if full-bodied syrah. I'll allow the description of "cool climate", at least in the context of California, but this wine bears little resemblance to the moniker Rotie. Mostly robust red fruit with fine tannins and earth. A well-made restrained syrah from Sonoma.

Purchaser at a corner market with a decent wine selection in San Francisco. Back vintage, but took a shot given the price.
Elegant, cool climate style of Syrah. Peppery and floral nose, herb, dark chocolate, raspberry palate. Very fine tannins, balanced acidity, rounded mid palate, good length to the finish.
Day 2 fell apart. So seems a good one to drink in the near term with a bit of air. Not a bruiser, will please Pinot drinkers more than those seeking a Cab replacement.
Decanted about 4 hours. This is a really nice Sonoma Coast syrah. Has little in common with its namesake region of Cote Rotie, in part because it could use more acidity. However, this is delicious for what it is, with nice blackberry fruit. Seems at peak (at least with a decant)— open, with little tannins.

I've enjoyed a half case of this over the last year+ and all have been very enjoyable. Great dark red fruits and bit of light spice and medium+ body that delivers. I'd agree that this last might be showing it's age and might be better enjoyed sooner than later.
