This one 'came in second' in a 'taste-off' between this wine and a 2004 Rutherford Grove Napa Valley Sangiovese. It was lighter and more fruity (with hints of cherry) than the Rutherford Grove. Longer air exposure sharpened this bottle quite a bit and towards the end the two wines tasted more alike. But in the end we decided the Rutherford Grove was the winner by just a little.

Interesting CA Sangiovese with nice depth and complexity. Spicy red fruit and good acidity with a bit of earth on the finish.
