Deep ruby to brick red. Strong nose of tart red berries, sagebrush, and saddle leather. Tuscan through and through. Explodes with a mouth puckering attack of raspberry, with rich and dry oak flavors and finely resolved tannins giving a slightly tacky but oh so smooth mouthfeel. Finishing on a note of ash and caramel, medium length.

Thougt it was excellent and could probably have waited even longer to drink. Have had 10 years since buying back in '99. Sister Lisa (a wine importer) loved it - said would have given it 94 points. Very balanced, not overly tanic - a great match for prime burgers. Decanted for about an hour but was not noticably better as a result. My only "criticism" was the short(ish) finish.

Very good cab / merlot Montalcino blend enjoyed earlier this week as part of a flight of Italian Montalcinos at the monthly Hickory Wine Club meeting. Very good, dark, medium bodied, well balanced and smooth and velvety on the palate. Currently in a prime drinking window. Poured and aerated in glass for about two hours prior to consumption. Too expensive to be any kind of a reasonable QPR but I do recommend this wine. Nose soft and almost floral with underlying dark berries, primary flavors consisted of a mix of berries, currant, allspice and some black pepper developing on the palate. Very good.

Ditto on Bumbian almost exactly. This didn't have that caramel edge to the finish for me though, but otherwise, spot on. Excellent stuff.
