Surprisingly, this is still going strong at nine years and has gained considerable complexity and maturity. Displays a clear, medium gold color and a medium body. As described in earlier notes, the winemaker was very judicious in his use of oak, which now has yielded complex notes of butter, buttercream, marzipan, sweet spice, and nuts, with dried peach, oxidized cantaloupe, sliced, browning red apple, cooked pineapple, lemon meringue, and chalky minerals. Moderate intensity and finish. Although I’ve been less than enthusiastic in prior notes, I like how this has developed and matured. Drink now; this is at peak, but most likely will start fading over the next year or two. Perfect accompaniment to the creamy, chicken Alfredo with penne and roasted vegetables.

I should probably have rated this a 90 but while really close, it just falls short on intensity. At this point in it's journey it's becoming mellow and flattening out on the palate. Still nicely balanced, a mix of oak tropicals with a little savory spice and earthiness coming up in the finish. Very nice!

Quite a bit of oak and sweet, almost candied fruit, but the relatively high acidity and citrus help to balance it. Beeswax and lanolin on the finish.

Light, short finish. Decent with food but not a lot of character.
