my second of two bottles. The first, I recall, was a terrifically fresh and vibrant wine. This was tired, maybe a bit of premox. Huge bottle to bottle variation and very disappointing

Really a lovely wine. Right after opening it tasted a little oaky and aggressive, but it settled down after about 15 min. Creamy mouthfeel and a surprisingly big wine. There was an immediate smokiness that lingered and the palate, joined by tropical fruits (mango, lychee). Outstanding for a village wine.

Toasty, mineral, creamed apple and lemon drop nose, with hints of coconut milk, vanilla and spearmint. Dry, firm, fresh, and spiced palate. Long, very complex and evolving finish. 4.5/5

Secret premier cru bottling with a village label. Chenevottes. Damn good.
