An excellent expression of cool climate, New World Cabernet. Intense yet balanced, with plenty of fruit to stand up to the 28 months in French oak barrels. From the Cough, Suther and Positas vineyards. Already drinking beautifully, with many years ahead of it.

Off a restaurant list. Decanted and started drinking immediately. Consumed over the next 75 minutes. Initial tannins faded quickly to show a good base Cab which was very balanced but not extremely exciting. Seemed like an early drinker. D liked it better than I did.

Dark ruby color and glycerin like tears. Nose of leather, tobacco and black fruit with a mild smokiness. Blackberry, blueberry and currant explode on the palate. Smooth tanins; round mouthfeel. Label claims 14.5% alc., but finish seems higher. This will continue to develop for another 5+ years.
